Jac Brown has been working and volunteering in social work and community organizing for over ten years. She has had the opportunity to serve diverse populations such as the LGBT+ community, homeless community, and commercially sexually exploited youth. As an outreach worker, peer recovery specialist and therapist, Jac enjoys supporting people who are in recovery. Jac works from a trauma informed, harm reduction focused lens with careful care to support clients in finding their own path towards healing. Jac’s experience allows her to bring empathy, authenticity and humor to her work. She believes in a holistic and collaborative approach, supporting clients to integrate and connect their minds, bodies and spirits.

Jac has a systems theory overview; working with individuals and couples using a foundation of attachment theory and emotionally focused therapy. Jac loves working with people from all walks of life, and is particularly interested in working with the queer community and non monogamous/polyamourus couples.

Jac holds a graduate degree in Clinical Social Work from University of Minnesota-Duluth and an undergraduate degree in Community Organizing and Change from Portland State University. Jac is also a trained mediator and has experience in nonviolent communication and somatic techniques. Jac is currently being trained in emotionally focused therapy. She works under the supervision of Carolyn Dehnbostel.

Outside of work, Jac enjoys connecting with the beautiful landscape of the north shore, weaving, traveling and spending time with her partner and their two dogs, Jelly and Lottie.
