Helping people who feel stuck get unstuck is my passion. Finding balance and addressing feeling disconnected or overwhelmed. Offering enthusiastic support and new perspectives on the underlying reasons a person or couple is struggling and then how to make real change.
We will build awareness and incorporate new skills to address whatever feels hard right now. And working towards being more content. Often, this includes helping people learn how to better identify and communicate their needs and hopes and desires.
I have an authentic, welcoming, and direct approach. My clinical focus is supporting people in finding satisfaction and enjoying meaningful relationships, including working through both big and small transitions.
I have additional experience in supporting parents. This includes during pregnancy and the postpartum time, being a team while experiencing stress in the family, blended families, coparenting after a divorce, and working with parents who have a child or children with medical or mental health conditions, such as ADHD, ASD, and/or other challenges. Other specialties include healthy sexual interactions, dating and new relationships, ENM relationships, and individuals who struggle with anxiety symptoms, especially due to trauma and/or unresolved family-of-origin challenges. I am an advocate for social justice and marginalized groups. I am affirming of LGBTQ+ individuals as well as neurodivergent individuals. My pronouns are she/her.
I have a Master of Arts in Counseling focusing on Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling from Adler Graduate School. Most recently, I worked as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in private practice, offering empathy, support, and care to new parents to help them meet their goals. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis. I am a Professional Family Mediator, which includes additional training in supporting people during the uncoupling process, as well as resolving coparenting or other issues that arise when couples end their romantic relationships. I find my advanced training in Dr. Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helpful in framing the challenges couples face using an attachment lens.
I am currently working toward licensure under the supervision of Jean Budge, MA, LMFT. I provide non-judgmental, informative, and compassionate therapy to couples, individuals (18+), and families. I am a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator which combines an assessment tool, feedback sessions, and skill-building as a foundation for premarital counseling or strengthening an existing committed relationship. I look forward to working with you in person at our Burnsville location or via telehealth.
